Welcome to Rosewood Poll Dorset Stud
- History of Rosewood
- The stud principle of Rosewood, David Sainsbury, has sheep breeding in his blood.
Ross Martin has been buying Rosewood rams for four years and can't fault their genetic package. "It's an up and coming stud and (its owners) put a lot of effort into it and is first class in every respect. Rosewood breeds early maturing, long-bodied rams that put weight on their progeny quickly, which is what producers are looking for. I used to buy Poll Dorsets else where and they just didn't measure up to Rosewood, It's an impressive stud and they are very reasonably priced rams."

Rosewood Poll Dorset Stud of Rye Park, NSW is owned by David and Elaine Sainsbury. It was founded in 2005 with the main breeding objective of producing rams that will sire lambs that are fast growing, structurally correctly, well-muscled sheep with well developed loin and hind quarter and with smoothness through the shoulders for easier lambing. Founded and building on the genetics of highly successful studs including Hillden at Bannister and Tattykeel at Oberon, sires purchased by Rosewood are carefully considered to ensure they possess the traits to benefit the long term direction of the stud.
